Peterson Auto Sales has been selling used cars from the same corner of Midvale since 1985. More than forty years later, we're still family-owned, still run by people who try to know every vehicle on the lot by heart, and still operating on the simple premise that nobody should have to brace themselves before walking onto a car lot.

The way we're different

We built this business around a short list of things we refuse to do. We don't pay our salespeople on commission, so the person helping you isn't quietly calculating what to push. We don't pad prices with junk fees. We don't use high-pressure closing tactics, rotate through "managers" at the end of a deal, or bury terms in fine print. The number we quote is the number you pay - and if we can't honestly recommend one of our cars for what you need, we'll tell you that too.

People who stay

The most common thing returning customers tell us is some version of: "the same people are still here." That's not an accident. We’re a family run business, which means the person who sold a truck to your family in the 90s might be the one handing you the keys today. In an industry known for churn, that kind of longevity is rare - and it's the reason we can stand behind every vehicle we sell without flinching.

Reputation we've earned

Reputation takes decades to build and a single bad deal to lose, so we take ours seriously. We hold an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, have been members of the Independent Automobile Dealers Association of Utah for over 20 years, and have twice been named Utah's Quality Dealer of the Year - first in 1989, and again in 2023. Most of our sales still go to repeat customers and their referrals, which tells us more than any award ever could.

How we think about the car itself

A used car is only a good deal if it holds up after you drive it home. Every vehicle we sell comes with a free CarFax report and the option to add extended warranty coverage. Trade-ins are always welcome, financing is available for every credit situation, and if we don't have what you're looking for on the lot, our Used Car Finder program sources it from our wholesale network at no extra cost.
